Amalgamated Transport and General Workers' Union (ATGWU)

ATGWU is Trade Union that traces its genetic roots from the first labour organization formed in Uganda. ATGWU's forerunner, the Uganda Motor Driver's Association was formed by Veteran Politicians and workers's rights activists Mr James Kivu and Mr Ignatius Kangavve Musaaz, and was registered by then the colonial government labour department in 1938.

Chapter Four Uganda

Chapter Four Uganda is a civil rights group defending civil liberties and promoting human rights for all through strategic legal response. The organisation was incorporated as a not-for-profit, non-partisan organization in April of 2013. Our mission is to provide a robust, strategic and non-discriminatory legal response to the abuse of civil liberties in Uganda.

Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA)

Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA) is a feminist-Pan-African leadership development organization that was founded in 1985 by a group of visionary African women in the United Kingdom but later relocated to Africa with headquarters in Kampala, Uganda. Their work is rooted in feminist principles and beliefs guided by the Charter of Feminist Principles for African Feminists which define our leadership development programme and movement building activities.

Uganda Press Photo Award

The Ugandan Press Photo Award is a photography competition open to Ugandan photojournalists and photographers. It is also a platform for exchanging thoughts and ideas about photography as a medium, through a series of workshops, exhibitions, talks, discussions, portfolio reviews and film screenings.

Platform for Vendors in Uganda (PLAVU) 

PLAVU is a Ugandan association comprising of hawkers, street and market vendors. This alliance aims at organizing vendors and informal traders to strengthen their capacity, fully participate, lobby, network and contribute towards creating opportunities for decent and productive work.
